El artículo trata por un lado sobre la persuasión como una habilidad útil en el entorno laboral y por otro sobre cómo el intento de manipular las opiniones ajenas puede causar reactancia: el rechazo directo y visceral de los argumentos que se presentan.

On one hand the article holds that persuasion, if subtle and tactful, can be an useful skill in our working environment, while on the other hand a wrong use can cause in the other person reactance, an absolute and visceral opposition to all our arguments.
