Un encargo muy interesante y bonito que recibí por medio del estudio Die Superpixel de Leipzig, Alemania. Se trataba de ilustrar una revista entera sobre el tema del Año Nuevo chino y el cambio al Año del Mono Rojo o Mono de Fuego. Los textos fueron muy interesantes y además muy variado: leyendas, actualidad… De ahí la posibilidad de utilizar estilos ligeramente distintos según se tratara de un cómic, una ilustración a página entera, un detalle o incluso la portada, todo unificado por el uso de una misma técnica, la acuarela, y la insistencia en dos únicos colores para realizar todo el trabajo.

This was a very beautiful and interesting work that I received through the graphic design studio Die Superpixel from Leipzig, Germany. The assignment was to illustrate a whole magazine about the Chinese New Year, Year of the Red Monkey or Fire Monkey. All texts were very interesting and diverse: legends, topical issues…  Therefore I could use slightly different styles depending on the kind of illustration: comic, full-page illustration, small details or even the cover picture of the magazine. The result of the repetition of the same colors, red and blue, and the general use of watercolors unify all pictures in a whole.

I am very glad with the final illustrations.
